Excellent product to use with CO2 for optimal performance. Thousands of mosquitoes captured! I can't live without it for the last 4 years.

I've had the mosquito trap with the CO2 canister for a year now. I hardly ever use the CO2. This year, with the mosquitoes being so numerous, I filled about a third of the bag in just 15 days. (Photo from last year.) They look good enough to eat, for those who like insects. Location is very important to me; it should be in the shade under a flowerbed.

What isn't said enough to the customer is that it only works well with the CO2 canister, which is heavy, expensive, and needs to be changed every 3 weeks. The product alone is not enough.

Very easy to set up. The only thing that needs improvement is the fan noise.

I installed the BG-Mosquitaire trap a week ago (March 1st) when I saw the first mosquitoes appear. I checked it Tuesday evening. 60 mosquitoes inside. I checked it a second time Saturday evening, less than a week after setting it up. 140 mosquitoes inside, that's 200 mosquitoes in less than a week... incredible! It makes almost no noise and only uses the electricity of a small PC fan. I added a sachet of BG-Sweetscents (valid for 2 months) and a towel with a sweat scent. I'm going to try adding a homemade CO2 trap to further improve its attractiveness. I also put out two egg-laying traps, but I haven't seen any results yet; it's too early. Honestly, so far, I'm blown away.

Easy to use and maintain. I've been using a CO2 trap for 2 years, and it definitely does its job. I live in the province of Lodi, and there are a lot of mosquitoes. This certainly helps, but it's not enough. I also have other traps, but despite everything, I still have to treat them every now and then. I recommend it, however, as it's a great help. Refilling the CO2 is complicated in this area. The photos are without the CO2 tank because they were taken in winter.

⚠️ TRAP INTENDED FOR OUTDOOR USE ⚠️ OPTIMIZING THE ACTIVE TRAP THE BASICS: Remove all standing water: buckets, toys, watering cans, tires, clean gutters/ditches/siphons/fountains, empty saucers/bowls/parasol bases, check for watering leaks, hermetically seal the water collector, ventilate your strawberry plants/other plants, water only at night, ...💡 In an apartment: clean drains and prevent water from pooling under the floor tiles. - Installation of additional PASSIVE TRAPS (prevents egg-laying) - IDEAL LOCATION: in the shade, in a humid area, away from drafts/wind - Cover as large an area as possible with several of these ACTIVE and PASSIVE traps - BAIT MUST BE CHANGED REGULARLY: every 2 months according to the instructions, but ideally every month. Therefore, potentially from MAY to OCTOBER depending on the region ⚠️ - Capture net MUST BE CLEANED REGULARLY - CO2 SYSTEM to increase your catches: 10kg refill (available at Metro) ~ €37 ⚠️ Power outlet nearby (cord long enough) ♻️ TURN OFF THE DEVICE AT NIGHT: the tiger mosquito is diurnal. ⚠️ PROTECT FROM RAIN 👌 Install mosquito nets ℹ️ Wear LIGHT-COLORED clothing when outdoors ❤️ Raise awareness among your neighbors by showing them your catches to convince them 💰 Significant budget per season: - Equipment (~€125 for the ACTIVE bait and ~€45 for the 2 PASSIVE baits) - Refills (~€42 for 3 baits and ~€13 for 30 sticky strips) ♻️ ENCOURAGE PREDATORS: In aquatic environments, the larvae are prey for other species: dragonflies or beetles, as well as fish.

I bought the pack which included: ► 1BG-Mosquitaire: This is a trap that attracts female mosquitoes using a sachet of BG-Sweetscent attractant, and traps them with a ventilation system that manages both the diffusion of the attractive scent and the continuous suction of mosquitoes into the capture net. It needs to be plugged into an electrical outlet, but fortunately the cord is quite long. The fan is a little noisy, however, since the trap should be kept away from living areas (patio, balcony, or high-traffic areas), the noise level is perfectly acceptable, even in a small 100m² garden. I took a picture of the capture net, but unfortunately, it's not very clear in the rain... Note that you may also find gnats, butterflies, bees, or even snails that have come to take shelter in the net. It should therefore be checked and replaced from time to time. ► 2 BG-GATs: These traps create a favorable breeding ground for mosquitoes simply by pouring water into them (like rainwater collectors or saucers of stagnant water). Once inside, the female mosquitoes will stick their legs and wings to the double-sided sticky strip inserted inside. During breeding season (as soon as it gets a little warmer and more humid), this trap is incredibly effective! Knowing that each female tiger mosquito can lay around 750 eggs in her lifetime, it becomes a real pleasure to check the sticky strip 😁 After a full season, I'm quite satisfied with my purchase. Both types of traps have their uses and work very well together. Proper placement is absolutely essential! I followed the installation manual's recommendations, but I still had to make several attempts before finding the right spots because my garden doesn't really look like the one described in the instructions 🙃 I also live near the city center, so the mosquitoes must adapt to these conditions and perhaps behave a little differently. You have to test them in your own environment. In conclusion, I recommend these traps, which remain affordable, especially during sales events like Black Friday or spring promotions. Of course, there are consumables to buy every year, but that's also the price of peace of mind. Seeing how effective they were, my neighbors bought the same pack, and since then they've been catching even more mosquitoes because their garden is very lush. Even if we're not talking about 100% capture and eradication (for that, everyone would have to do their part), we've definitely noticed a decrease in the number of mosquitoes and, consequently, fewer bites!

Quite disappointed with the quality of the transparent lid of this trap which I bought in the spring of 2022. Indeed, this year, despite having brought it inside during the winter for the past 3 years, it cracked before falling to pieces.

This is a very good trap for reducing the mosquito population, though it won't eliminate it completely (it's important to be aware of this). Placement is crucial for maximum effectiveness, and you should avoid being too close to the trap. I've had mine for five years and it's still working well. Overall, I'm satisfied, and I'm thinking of adding CO2 for even greater effectiveness.

I use four mosquito traps and one outdoor trap. While the traps are effective—the sticky traps are full of tiger mosquitoes—the outdoor trap doesn't do its job. The fact that it's electric is impractical in a garden where you have to find the most suitable location for maximum capture. Isn't there another power source, like a battery or solar power?

I've been using Biogent mosquito traps for 5 years now: - You need to test the ideal location for each trap (evaluate the capture rate in 24 hours in different locations). - You need to change the attractant every month. - You need to put the traps out quite early (in the south of France, as early as May) and remove them at the beginning of November... when the temperature drops below 12-14°C. - Every year, the number of mosquitoes decreases...

Michael Lauch
Michael Lauch

I've been using the trap with its attractant for two years now. The trap works perfectly. I live in Toulon, and we still have mosquitoes in November. The trap is still working even though the attractant is well past its two-month lifespan. The photo is from November 7th. I've managed to convince two neighbors to set up this system. Unfortunately, the fight against mosquitoes isn't over yet. I wholeheartedly recommend Biogents products.

How it works

Image
  1. The fan disperses the attractant that mimics human scent
  2. The controller connects the CO2 bottle to the trap and regulates the CO2 emission
  3. The nozzle releases CO2 to imitate human breathing and attract more mosquitoes
  4. Attracted by the airflows and both lures, mosquitoes are drawn into the trap where they dehydrate
  5. Operate 24/7 so that it constantly catches the mosquitoes before they bite you

Connectivity: MyBiogents APP

Image
  • Download the MyBiogents APP (works via Bluetooth)
  • Save money by scheduling CO2 release times
  • Receive automatic notifications when it's time to change CO2 or the attractant
  • Benefit from helpful tips, explanations, and videos
