Description

GET THE BEST PERFORMING MOSQUITO TRAP AND CATCH ALL SPECIES OF MOSQUITOES

The BG-Mosquitaire CO2 mosquito trap shows the highest trapping performance in controlling all kinds of mosquitoes and other flying blood-sucking insects for which CO2 is the most important attractant. The two attractants BG-Sweetscent and CO2 mutually enhance the trapping effect and make the BG-Mosquitaire CO2 irresistible for all mosquito species. This robust trap works completely without insecticides and is designed to be placed in your garden to protect you from mosquito bites. This electric mosquito trap is used worldwide for mosquito control.
The trap has a very low power consumption of 5 watts.
The CO2 tank must be sourced separately.

Contents
  • 1x BG-Mosquitaire trap with funnel
  • 1x outdoor power supply, Typ II (8m)
  • 2x catch bag
  • 1x funnel net
  • 1x BG-Booster CO2 set (1 CO2 5m pipe + 1 Biogents CO2 emitter nozzle + 1 pressure reducing regulator (The colour of the pressure reducing regulator may vary))
  • 1x BG-Sweetscent attractant (human scent imitator; lasts for 2 months)

The gas bottle is not included in the contents.
More information about where to get the CO2, see in the "CO2" tab.

Placement

FOR MAXIMUM CATCH RATES, THE CORRECT PLACEMENT OF THE TRAP IS ESSENTIAL

In order to get the highest catch rates, test different locations.

The BG-Mosquitaire CO2 mosquito trap is to be used outdoors in the garden. Place the trap on the ground near resting areas of the mosquitoes, e.g., in shady, wind-protected places with high humidity such as in sparse shrubs. However, the trap should not be too hidden, but still visible. Do not place the trap directly on the terrace/patio and not in direct sunlight.

Enhance your mosquito control with the BG-Mosquitaire CO2 by eliminating breeding sites: Empty or completely cover rain barrels; remove old tires; empty plant saucers, buckets, and other water holding containers; keep rain gutters clear.

CO2

CO2 SUPPLY SOURCES

The gas bottles are not included in the contents. For our CO2 traps, we recommend using a 10 kg gas cylinder. However, you could also use 5, 6, 10, or 20 kg if you prefer. How long the tank will last, depends on how many hours per day CO2 is released, which depends on the local mosquito activity through the day. If CO2 is released 24 hours with our recommended release rate of 0.5 kg/day, the CO2 tank will last 20 days.

The gas bottles can be acquired or rented at drink retailers or bottle depots for a deposit. A door-to-door delivery service may also be possible in some locations.

Depending on the country, we partly have cooperations with CO2 companies. You can find more info here >

Biogents in the News

Our best trap for all mosquito species

image

House mosquitoes

House mosquitoes lay up to 350 eggs in rain barrels, abandoned watering cans and buckets, garden ponds or puddles. They set out in search of blood meals especially from dusk till dawn and are particularly troublesome then.

image

Floodwater mosquitoes

Floodwater mosquitoes usually occur in very large swarms and can be active day and night. They lay their eggs in regions that are flooded. After floods, masses of larvae can hatch almost simultaneously.

image

Tiger mosquitoes

Unlike most other mosquitoes, tiger mosquitoes are day biters. They are small, black and white striped as well as unusually aggressive. Female tiger mosquitoes normally lay their eggs in natural or artificial containers filled with water (e.g., water residues in flower vases), no matter how small they are, making the Asian tiger mosquito perfectly adapted to the urban environment.

Highest catch rates

Catch them all!

CO2 boosts your trap’s catch rates for all mosquito species for maximum catch rates

The combination of the BG-Sweetscent and CO2 increases the catch rates of tiger mosquitoes even further

How does the trap attract mosquitoes?

image
The trap imitates the cues of a human body which are attractive for mosquitoes. For the mosquito, the trap looks just like a human being.
  1. Skin scent plume produced by a human.
  2. Attractant plume dispersed by the trap + CO2 which mimics the human breath and further increases the attractiveness.

How it works:

Best catch rates thanks to scientific approach

Scientific studies show high catch rates as well as the worldwide use of the traps

Through patented capture method

image

Used worldwide

Private customers, researchers, and professional organizations use Biogents traps all over the world

image

Scientifically proven

The effectiveness of the traps has been proven in numerous scientific publications

image

Insecticide-free attractant

Formula without the use of insecticides or other harmful ingredients. These systems don’t harm beneficial insects like butterflies or bees.

Engineered in Germany

Our unique capture method

All Biogents suction traps have one thing in common: the patented counterflow principle

image
This is how it works:
  1. Adding CO2 mimics human breath and increases the capture rate
  2. Air currents generated by the fan draw in the mosquitoes
  3. Upwards directed air flow imitates convection currents of a human body and dispenses artificial human skin scent
  4. A light-dark contrast acts as a visual cue

Nature is important to us!

Biogents traps are developed to have the least impact on nature and the environment as possible
