For an efficient and sustainable mosquito control it is necessary to avoid competition between the BG-GAT trap and other breeding sites. Therefore, remove or empty competing breeding sites, such as flowerpots, vases, buckets, water barrels, rain gutters, discarded cups and bottles, and plants that hold small quantities of water.

CO2

CO2 SUPPLY SOURCES

The gas bottles are not included in the contents. For our CO2 traps, we recommend using a 10 kg gas cylinder. However, you could also use 5, 6, 10, or 20 kg if you prefer. How long the tank will last, depends on how many hours per day CO2 is released, which depends on the local mosquito activity through the day. If CO2 is released 24 hours with our recommended release rate of 0.5 kg/day, the CO2 tank will last 20 days.

The gas bottles can be acquired or rented at drink retailers or bottle depots for a deposit. A door-to-door delivery service may also be possible in some locations.

The plug of this power supply unit is a shaped plug (type description: CEE 7/17) that can be used in all European countries except Great Britain, Ireland, Cyprus, Gibraltar, and Malta. Pressure regulator:
This regulator can be used in Europe and some other countries outside of Europe with DIN 477 No. 6 CO2 gas cylinders. This regulator has the W 21.8 x 1/14" fitting.

The appropriate power adapter (type J) is automatically included for Switzerland.

Development
The BG-GAT trap was developed by Dr. A. E. Eiras from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and Dr. S. A. Ritchie from the James Cook University, Cairns, Queensland, Australia. Biogents produces and distributes the trap under a license agreement with both universities.
