If I could give this thing more than 5 stars I would. I have the trap without the CO2 tank and this thing is still absolutely stellar. I have tried thermacell, doom buckets, all types of bug sprays and nothing has worked like this has. I went from being bitten every 30 seconds to not one bite in 2 months. I live in an urban area where people have literally been complaining about the mosquitos since Ben Franklin and this has obliterated them. If you’re wondering if this works in an urban context it sure does! Thanks biogents!

We bought and set up the traps five weeks ago. They work perfectly, and since we live by the water, there are a lot of mosquitoes here. It's very important to place the system in the shade and near bushes. It works wonderfully with CO2 dosing; without it, the results are only moderate. It's a shame that the timer has to be ordered separately. It would be nice if all the parts could be bought together; that would simplify things considerably. You don't know this beforehand, and then you have to reorder, incurring shipping costs, of course. As I said, it's essential to use CO2 and administer it for at least eight hours. Finally, we can sit comfortably in the garden while the mosquitoes swarm in the trap.

We've been using it for over three years and are very happy with the results 😁. We can have lunch and eat outside on our patio and pool deck. We installed one in front of our patio and one in back, along with three BG-GAT traps. The results are amazing 😮. Before, we'd get attacked as soon as we stepped outside 😡, but now we only get one or two that come 😁 to try and bite us. The CO2 trap is amazing! We can finally enjoy our patio again in the summer. We've been using it since summer 2024. We have one BG-Moquiaire CO2 trap and two BG-Gat traps. My neighbor thanked me for installing them... The CO2 makes a real difference; without it, it's much less effective. I highly recommend Biogents AG equipment. Plus, their customer service is very competent and efficient.

Floodwater mosquitoes
Floodwater mosquitoes usually occur in very large swarms and can be active day and night. They lay their eggs in regions that are flooded. After floods, masses of larvae can hatch almost simultaneously.
Tiger mosquitoes
Unlike most other mosquitoes, tiger mosquitoes are day biters. They are small, black and white striped as well as unusually aggressive. Female tiger mosquitoes normally lay their eggs in natural or artificial containers filled with water (e.g., water residues in flower vases), no matter how small they are, making the Asian tiger mosquito perfectly adapted to the urban environment.

The CO2 CONTROL SET upgrades your Biogents suction trap to catch all mosquito species
If you are bothered by mosquitoes mainly in the evening, or if you live near a flood plain, the reason for the nuisance is most probably not the tiger mosquito, but house or floodwater mosquitoes. In this case, it is necessary to add CO2 and the CO2 CONTROL SET to the Biogents suction trap to increase capture rates for these mosquito species.
CO2 is an important attractant for all mosquito species. CO2 and the Biogents SWEETSCENT/ BG-Sweetscent work together as synergists. Together they can greatly increase the number of captured mosquito species and maximize the capture rate (also for tiger mosquitoes). The CO2 CONTROL SET helps disperse the optimum dose of CO2 and the release rate can be adjusted to the local and seasonal mosquito situation. The release rate corresponds to the amount of CO2 a small child releases.

The following examples are just general recommendations. Please adjust to your local mosquito situation:
- Time frame for house mosquitoes:
3:00 – 5:00 and 20:00 – 24:00 - Time frame for flood water mosquitoes:
7:00 – 23:00* - Time frame for tiger mosquitoes:
8:00 – 10:00 and 16:00 - 23:00
* At the beginning of the nuisance, we recommend to start with 24 hours continuous CO2. When the population decreases, the CO2 timer can be switched to the recommended time frames.
